In the Forest

In the forest, the mist convene,
magically stroking the pinnacles of ancient giant redwoods,
forming sweet deliquescence, becoming dense,
becoming dew drops descending to quench the thirsty forest floor below.

The eager Western Sword Ferns hastily welcome the gift from above
as if surrounded by a rush of life,
suddenly invigorated, vitality renewed.

The sleepy Redwood Sorrels awaken to a renewed zest,
happily soaking at the sight of the diminutive torrential downpour
provided by the fusion of vapor and trees.

The mixed understory of moss covered Tanoak, Rhododendrons, Madrone, Red Alder, and California bay
rise to a thundering applause as tiny dew drops trickle down to wash the old growth
and eventually give way to Fir and second growth redwoods.

The sight of life reverberates within me;
I can hear the redwoods speak their ancient tongue like vast tides of everlasting insight,
allowing me a glimpse of their jade and verdant world,
sharing with me their timeless wisdom.

Today, there is no grief or discomfort,
just my absence from the doldrums of modern life
and floating in a timeless presence beyond place amongst giants.

The forest is alive…look and see.

I normallly don't take interest in photography, but this thing really jumped out at my when I saw it while browsing! The colors are really surprising and astounding, almost unnatural. Did you digitally alter this at all? I ask because the crispness and beauty of the color just strikes me as impossible to find naturally... But I guess photography is all about finding and capturing these things. ^__^

Great shot! Like I said, it's beautiful.

Or I may become a highwayman again.
Or I may simply be a simple drop of rain...
But I will remain..."
Nope. This don't even hold a candle to the original slide. No digital alterations on my landscapes :D Just have to know the best light available for the subject at hand... in this case overscast skies under a forest canopy + polarizer :D

I'm not opposed to it though...I'm just really not that creative at altering photos.
:wow: I'm stunned! I'd love to see a place where the foliage looks this lush and bright. :D

Are you going to offer this as a print? I'd wishlist it and get it some day! I'd love having such a pretty thing in a frame. :D

Thanks. I got it at 350MB (6440 x 8766 Pixels) :D I have to find a way to shrink it down without loosing quality then and wait forever to upload :D

It's a Redwood Sorrel. The redwood sorrel in the south doesn't the purple underleaf(it that's a word :D) I think this is unique only to the northern coastal area of California.
It's beautiful. I wish we had them here. I may have to make a trip to California sometime to find it. lol
